🕊️ Spirituality
The narrow gate is not found through the intellect alone but through the intention of the heart.

You can read every sacred text ever written and still miss the point if your heart isn't in it. Spiritual growth isn't a head game — it's a heart practice. Lead with sincerity.

Sometimes, we spend so much time trying to figure life out with our heads that we completely forget to listen to our hearts. Hildegard of Bingen’s beautiful words remind us that the most important paths in life, those narrow and sacred gates of true meaning, cannot be unlocked simply by logic or clever thinking. You can study every map, analyze every possible outcome, and build the most complex mental blueprints, but if your heart isn't truly intending to walk through that door, you will always find yourself standing still at the threshold. The intellect is a wonderful tool for navigation, but it lacks the warmth and the courage required for true transformation.

In our everyday lives, we see this tension constantly. We approach our careers, our relationships, and even our personal growth as if they were math problems to be solved. We ask ourselves, what is the most efficient way to succeed? What is the most logical way to respond to this conflict? While these are good questions, they often lead us into a loop of overthinking. We become trapped in a cage of our own analysis, paralyzed by the fear of making a mistake. We try to outsmart our way into happiness, only to find that the more we calculate, the further away peace feels.

I remember a time when I felt quite lost, much like a little duckling caught in a heavy fog. I had all these plans written down in my tiny notebook, trying to calculate exactly how I could be more productive and more successful. I was using every ounce of my intellect to design a perfect life. But despite all my meticulous planning, I felt hollow. It wasn't until I stopped analyzing my schedule and started asking myself what truly brought me joy and compassion that the fog began to lift. I had to stop trying to solve my life and start intending to live it with love.

When we shift our focus from the intellect to the intention of the heart, the world begins to look different. The narrow gate becomes less of a daunting obstacle and more of an invitation to be authentic. It is an invitation to move with purpose, even when the path isn't perfectly clear. The heart knows how to recognize what is true, even when the mind is confused by doubt or complexity.

As you move through your day today, I want to encourage you to take a small breath and check in with yourself. Are you trying to force a solution through sheer willpower and logic? If you feel stuck, try setting aside your checklists for just a moment. Ask your heart what it truly intends for you. Let your intentions be guided by kindness and sincerity, and see how much lighter the journey feels.
