⏳ Time
“Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away.”

Marcus Aurelius wrote this nearly two thousand years ago, and yet it still rings true every evening when the day seems to have vanished. Letting go of what's already flowing past can bring a surprising kind of peace.

Have you ever stood by a flowing stream and watched how quickly a single leaf is carried downstream? Marcus Aurelius captures that exact feeling when he describes time as a powerful, unstoppable river. It is a profound way to look at our lives, acknowledging that everything we see, touch, and experience is in a constant state of motion. Moments arrive with such beauty, but before we can even fully grasp their essence, the current of time has already pulled them toward the horizon, making room for something new to drift into view.

In our daily lives, this can feel a little bit overwhelming, can't it? We spend so much energy trying to hold onto the 'good' moments, like a perfect sunset or a quiet morning with a loved one, fearing that the current will take them away too soon. We often find ourselves mourning the past or rushing toward the future, forgetting that the river is always moving. This constant cycle of arrival and departure is the very nature of existence, and while it can feel fleeting, it is also what makes every single moment so incredibly precious.

I remember a time when I was feeling particularly stuck, as if I were trying to swim upstream against the weight of my own worries. I was so focused on a project that had gone wrong that I couldn't see the beautiful things happening right in front of me. It wasn't until I took a moment to just sit on the bank and breathe that I realized the current wasn't my enemy. The difficult moment was already passing, being swept away to make space for a new opportunity. Just like the river, life provides a continuous stream of fresh starts if we simply allow ourselves to float with the flow.

As your friend BibiDuck, I want to remind you that you don't have to fight the current to find peace. You don't need to build dams to stop the moments you love from passing. Instead, try to find joy in the movement itself. When a beautiful moment arrives, let it wash over you completely. When a difficult moment arrives, trust that the river is already carrying it away toward the sea.

Today, I invite you to take a small pause. Look around at what is currently in your view. Instead of worrying about when it will leave, try to simply witness it. What is one small, beautiful thing in your current stream that you can appreciate right now?
