🙏 Gratitude
Some of us think holding on makes us strong but sometimes it is letting go.

Hesse redefines strength as the grateful ability to release what no longer serves.

There is a common misconception that strength is measured by how much weight we can carry or how tightly we can grip the things we love. We often treat our struggles like heavy stones, believing that if we just hold on a little longer, we will eventually prove our worth. But Hermann Hesse reminds us of a much gentler truth: true strength often reveals itself not in the clenching of a fist, but in the opening of a palm. Letting go isn't an act of defeat; it is an act of profound courage that clears the space for something new to grow.

In our everyday lives, we hold onto so many things that no longer serve us. We hold onto old versions of ourselves, outdated grudges, or even relationships that have simply run their course. We stay in situations because we feel that leaving would mean we failed. We mistake the exhaustion of clinging to the past for the endurance of a warrior, when in reality, we are just wearing ourselves out. Real power comes when we realize that we don't have to carry everything to be whole.

I remember a time when I was feeling particularly overwhelmed, trying to keep every single tiny detail of my life perfectly in order. I was clutching onto my schedule, my expectations, and my fears so tightly that my wings felt heavy and stiff. I thought that if I let even one small thing slip, my whole world would unravel. It wasn't until I finally allowed myself to stop controlling the outcome of a difficult situation that I felt the lightness return. By letting go of the need to be perfect, I actually found the strength to be present.

It is okay to acknowledge that a certain chapter has ended. It is okay to put down the heavy burdens that have been weighing on your heart for far too long. When you loosen your grip, you aren't losing anything; you are simply making room for the sunlight to reach the parts of you that have been in the shadows. You are creating space for peace, for joy, and for new beginnings that can only arrive when your hands are empty and ready.

As you move through your day, I want you to gently ask yourself what you might be holding onto too tightly. Is there a resentment, a worry, or a memory that is draining your energy? Take a deep breath and see if you can practice the small, brave act of releasing it. You might be surprised at how much lighter you feel once you finally let go.
