Quote of the Day

“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music of wonder”
Those who experience wonder may seem strange to those who do not.
Have you ever felt like you were living in a completely different rhythm than the rest of the world? Friedrich Nietzsche’s beautiful words remind us that joy is often a private symphony. When we find something that makes our hearts swell with awe, we start to move to a beat that others simply cannot perceive. To those standing still, our excitement might look like madness, but to us, it is the only logical response to the beauty we have discovered.
In our daily lives, this often shows up in the small, seemingly silly ways we express delight. It is the way we hum to ourselves while doing the dishes, or the way we stop dead in our tracks to admire a particularly vibrant sunset. Most of the time, the world keeps rushing by, focused on schedules and checklists. When we pause to embrace a moment of pure wonder, we might feel a bit out of place, as if we are dancing in the middle of a busy sidewalk while everyone else is staring at their phones.
I remember a time when I was walking through a park, feeling quite overwhelmed by a long list of chores. Suddenly, I saw a tiny patch of wildflowers swaying in the breeze, and I couldn't help but start a little happy jig right there on the path. A passerby gave me a very confused look, as if I had lost my marbles. In that moment, I realized they weren't judging me; they simply couldn't hear the melody that the flowers were playing. They were stuck in the noise of the city, while I was lost in the music of the earth.
It can be tempting to quiet our enthusiasm just to fit in or to avoid those judgmental glances. We might try to dampen our sparkle so we don't seem 'insane' to the onlookers. But there is so much magic lost when we stop dancing. The goal of life shouldn't be to blend into the background, but to find the music that makes us want to leap, spin, and sing.
So, my dear friend, I want to encourage you to lean into your wonder today. If you find something beautiful, let it move you. Don't worry about whether the people around you understand your rhythm. Instead, try to listen a little harder for that music of wonder in your own life, and let it guide your steps.
