💖 Love
You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

You are worthy of love, especially your own. Treat yourself with kindness, and love yourself first.

Sometimes we spend our entire lives acting like unpaid security guards for everyone else's happiness. We check in on our friends, we make sure our families are comfortable, and we offer our shoulders to anyone in need of a cry. But in the middle of all that tending to others, we often leave ourselves standing out in the cold, completely forgotten. This beautiful quote from Buddha reminds us that the most important relationship you will ever nurture is the one you have with your own soul. You are not just a supporting character in the lives of others; you are the protagonist of your own journey, and you deserve the same tenderness you so freely give away.

I see this happen so often in the quiet moments of everyday life. Think about that friend who is always the first to text back, the one who remembers every birthday and offers the best advice, yet always seems to brush off their own needs with a quick, 'Oh, I'm fine, don't worry about me.' They are masters of external kindness but are often starving for internal compassion. We treat our own mistakes like heavy burdens to carry, while we treat our friends' mistakes with grace and understanding. It is a strange imbalance, isn't it? We hold ourselves to a standard of perfection that we would never, ever demand from someone we love.

I remember a time when I felt quite overwhelmed, trying to keep everyone around me happy while my own little nest felt completely empty of joy. I was so busy making sure every feather was in place for everyone else that I forgot to check if I was even comfortable. It took me a moment of deep stillness to realize that I was being a wonderful friend to the world, but a very unkind stranger to myself. I had to learn that taking a moment to rest, to breathe, and to speak kindly to my own reflection wasn't selfish; it was necessary for survival.

So, I want to invite you to do a little check-in today. Take a moment to look at how you speak to yourself when things go wrong. Are you using words that build you up, or words that tear you down? Try to offer yourself just one small act of affection today, whether it is a warm cup of tea, a moment of quiet rest, or simply a gentle thought of forgiveness. You are a precious part of this vast universe, and you truly do deserve your own love.
