Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Frost celebrates the transformative power of unconventional choices.

Have you ever stood at a crossroads, feeling the weight of a decision pressing down on your shoulders? Robert Frost’s beautiful words remind us that life is essentially a series of paths, some wide and paved with certainty, and others narrow, overgrown, and mysterious. To take the road less traveled is to embrace the unknown, choosing authenticity over the comfort of the crowd. It is a brave admission that the most meaningful parts of our journey often lie where the footprints of others end.

In our everyday lives, this choice doesn't always look like a grand, cinematic adventure. More often, it looks like choosing to be vulnerable in a conversation, or deciding to pursue a hobby that others might find silly, or even setting a boundary that protects your peace even if it makes you temporarily unpopular. The 'less traveled' path is frequently the one that requires more courage because it lacks the safety net of social validation. It is the path of following your own internal compass rather than a GPS programmed by someone else's expectations.

I remember a time when I felt quite lost, much like a little duckling wandering away from the flock. I had a dream of writing my own stories, but everyone around me seemed to be moving toward much more traditional, stable career paths. The paved road looked so much safer and easier to follow. However, there was a quiet tugging at my heart that whispered I needed to try my own way. Choosing to focus on my creative passions felt lonely at first, like walking through a thick fog, but as I leaned into that uncertainty, I discovered a version of myself that was much more vibrant and alive. That choice changed the entire landscape of my soul.

When we choose the path that aligns with our true values, we might encounter more bumps and brambles, but the view is much more breathtaking. We get to experience the world through our own unique lens, rather than seeing it through a filtered version of someone else's life. There is a profound sense of ownership that comes from knowing you navigated the woods on your own terms.

As you move through your week, I want to encourage you to look closely at the paths available to you. Are you walking a path because it is easy, or because it is yours? If you feel a gentle pull toward a different direction, even if it looks a bit daunting, perhaps it is time to trust your wings and take that leap toward the less traveled way.
