⏳ Time
“Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend.”

Theophrastus elevates time above all material possessions.

When we hear the words of Theophrastus, it is easy to think about clocks, calendars, and deadlines. But when I sit with this quote, I realize it is not actually about managing a schedule; it is about the sacred nature of our attention. Unlike money, which can be earned back after a loss, or possessions, which can be replaced, a single minute, once gone, is vanished forever. To spend time is to give a piece of your life away, which makes every moment a precious gift that we distribute to the people and the passions that truly matter.

In our modern world, we often treat time as if it were an infinite resource. We scroll through endless feeds, linger in stressful arguments, or stay stuck in loops of worry, essentially throwing our most valuable currency into a void. We find ourselves saying we are too busy, yet we often realize we have spent our hours on things that leave our hearts feeling empty. It is so easy to let the days slip through our fingers like sand, only to look up and wonder where the season went.

I remember a time when I felt completely overwhelmed by my own to-do lists, feeling as though I was running a race with no finish line. I was so focused on being productive that I missed the tiny, beautiful moments, like the way the morning light hit my favorite reading nook or the sound of a friend's laughter during a quick tea break. I was spending my time, but I wasn't investing it. It took a moment of stillness to realize that being busy is not the same as being present, and that my time deserved more respect than that.

As your friend BibiDuck, I want to remind you that you are the treasurer of your own life. You get to decide where your precious minutes go. You can spend them on anxiety and distraction, or you can invest them in kindness, learning, and rest. Every choice you make is a transaction with your soul.

Today, I invite you to take a small, intentional pause. Look at your day ahead and ask yourself: what is one thing I can do with my time that will make me feel truly nourished? Choose something that honors the beautiful, fleeting nature of this very moment.
