☮️ Peace
“The wound is the place where the light enters you and where peace begins to heal.”

Rumi finds that our wounds become the entry points for healing light and peace.

Sometimes, when we feel the sting of a heartache or the heavy weight of a mistake, it feels as though we are breaking apart. We tend to view our wounds as flaws or interruptions to our happiness, trying so hard to hide the cracks from the rest of the world. But Rumi offers us such a beautiful perspective when he suggests that these very openings are the portals for light. It means that our pain isn't just something to endure; it is a transformative space where we can finally let in the warmth, wisdom, and peace that we might have otherwise kept locked away behind walls of perfection.

In our everyday lives, this often shows up in the quiet moments after a period of struggle. Think about that feeling when you have finally finished a difficult project or navigated a messy breakup. At first, you only feel the emptiness or the ache. But as the dust settles, you might notice a new sense of empathy for others or a newfound strength in your own character. That is the light entering. The cracks in our armor allow us to be more porous, more connected to the world around us, and more capable of deep, authentic healing.

I remember a time when I felt quite lost, much like a little duckling separated from its flock. I was so focused on the 'wound' of my loneliness that I couldn't see anything else. I tried to patch myself up with distractions and busyness, but nothing worked. It wasn't until I sat quietly with my sadness and allowed myself to be vulnerable that I started to notice the small joys again—the warmth of the sun, the kindness of a friend, the simple peace of a quiet morning. By acknowledging the wound instead of hiding it, I allowed the light to find its way back to me.

Healing doesn't happen by pretending the hurt never existed. It happens when we use that very space of vulnerability to invite in new understanding. It is a gentle process of letting the light soften the edges of our pain until that pain becomes a foundation for peace. As you navigate your own journey, please remember that your struggles do not define your end; they are often the beginning of your most beautiful evolution.

Today, I invite you to take a soft, deep breath and look at your current struggles through a different lens. Instead of asking how to fix the crack, ask yourself what kind of light you might be able to let in through it. Be patient with your healing process, and trust that the light is already finding its way to you.
